BHUSANDESWAR SHIVA LINGA
Bhusandeswar temple

Bhusandeswar is located in Balasore district of Odisha nearby Chandeneswar(Jaleswar). It is famous for its largest Shiva Linga. The Shiva Linga is made up of large granite 12ftheight and 14ftwidth. It is the Asia's largest Shiva Linga. The temple is very small.
There is a mythological story behind this temple and the story goes like this.........
at the time of tretaya yuga(age), the demon king Ravana was blessed by Lord Shiva and gifted by a Shiva Linga. But Lord Shiva warned him not to place the Linga anywhere. Ravana was on his way with Linga on his Puspakviman. At the meantime, Ravana felt desparate and plant the linga on this place. He tried to lift again but failed.
